That Still and Settled Place

After she had gone, I found a card that Quna had left hidden for me.

Regarding it, when I spoke to her about it afterwards, she said "I've always quite liked Edward Monkton cards, and he says it far better than what I ever could."

But still, I think that what she wrote inside, and what she told me, was also very beautiful.

  2. Are you talking about Edward Monkton, or me? ;)

I think my sister has one about chocolate on her notice board :)

  3. Some of the Monkton stuff is a little too far out for my taste...but he does seem to hit the button from time to time too...your card is a good example of this...

Do you begin to feel more fortunate of late? Perhaps cautiously I think you should...

  4. Hmmm, why allude to *us* about what's inside when we can't see it? Hmmm

Is the still and settled place a mortuary btw? ;o)

Just wondered. I hope not, lol.

  5. Cogi: Yeah, I looked at some on the site and thought some was a bit random (one off the top of my head was like, "I'm a happy lesbian sitting in a tree/ Won't you come and have a cup of tea?" - which I thought seemed a little random)

Ah, well... fortunes do like to be a little mixed sometimes...

Zeb: Because what she said made me smile, and I wanted to share that. Were I to share it, it would not have the same effect on you as it did on me, so I wished to share the result of the effect it had on me.

No, it is not a mortuary. 'Though, if the meaning were the same, I do not know that it would matter.

  6. I guess I was just thinking that it's more a between you two thing than an all of us thing. That's all. Glad you're smiling though.

Ok, not a mortuary then. Is it a jelly in the fridge? ;o)

  7. I like Edward Monton a lot - I bought his Dinosaurs book for Valentines Day a few years ago as the dinosaurs are very like us!

I've not seen this card before but it is lovely.

  8. I'm also a Monkton fan. I've got a birthday card on my notice board which reads: Live your Dreams, except for that one about being eaten by the giant spider.

    You're a lucky bloke.
