My, That's a BIIIIG One

Russia is planning the world's longest tunnel... From Siberia to Alaska.

Project costs are estimated at around $65 billion USD, with a time scale of some 15 years.


(Here's a picture I prepared earlier - red splodge indicates rough location, as if you didn't know or guess :) )

So we're likely to be talking about, what, $350 billion USD and 40 years realistically?

It's probably just a pipe dream, but still, it's one whole heck of a dream to even be considering.
